Master MIDI Sync

Post by Jollyollyman »

Hey, I'm new here! I've had an SP 404 for a while now, and i love it. I'm planning on getting a hardware synth soon (most likely a microkorg) is there like a midi master box or something that can keep everything all synced up?

the microkorg has MIDI Out, i'm not familiar with it, but it should be able to send time and sync data to the 404...just plug from MK Out to 404 In

I don't have an mk, but according to the Korg manual, it can transmit clock but you have to set it in a menu. So you may not need anything else. I expect this is just a timing clock, probably to sync to the synth arpeggiator and LFO, it isn't a transport control (no start/stop). You would need something else for that, and the cheapest might be a drum machine - don't have to use its sounds, just the start/stop (can be done with a footswitch) and tempo setting.
