Sequencing another SP with the 505 thru MIDI

Have any of yall gone about sequencing another SP with the 505.

I want to use my 404mk2 to make chops and mangle sounds with the efx busses, then use the 505 to sequence using the 4 part system.

Would this be possible through midi and have yall tried with any of the older SPs.

As of now I'm using Ableton as my main sequencer and to edit/master tracks.

My signal flow is

Audio Technica LP-120 + UMC-404HD (out)3/4 > Gemini PS -676 Mixer >SP-505 > SP 404mk2 > UMC-404HD (in) 1/2 > Ableton (Ext. Effects)


I might have to switch the 404 and the 404 in the chain as well to keep this signal flow and still route midi between the two

Well I tied it and it seems the 505 cant sequence midi notes, bummer.

yes, it can
but the midi on sp505/606 is a bit criptic
you have to take a look at the manual, it sends midi notes per banks...i know, a bit weird...
