Hey guys uumm I have a quick question what would be better for me to do....
I fI make a beat on the sp but I wanna layer different kicks, snares, hihats, or anything else what would be better Track Layering like putting the sounds on the same track or pad layering like putting the sounds on the same pads?
( I want to be able to pitch the sounds up and down I read a post stating that wasent possible when pad layering? Is it even possible at all to pictch shift w/o messing with the tempo and i it possible to change the tempo/speed of a sample without changing the pitch?)

If you are using any sampler from the Boss\Roland SP series you should forget about oldschool pitch shifting (changes both frequency and speed) although you can pitch shift samples without changing their tempos and timestretch (changing length the loop without affecting its pitch). But I must say that even on 606 and 505 quality of those both last effects is way worser than on any cheap computer software.
If only Roland would add original pitch shift feature like 16 PADS feature on MPC's 606 would become a bit of more rival to AKAI sampler series.
