Guitar Center gave me a date of April 30th of when they would get the next restock (dude said "a bunch")
Chicago Music Exchange now has April 29th as their pre-order delivery date, so looks like that might be when the next big batch is going out...

I wonder if we'll see any other updates come out up until then
Sam Ash only said they get more "every 3 to 4 weeks", but ZzSounds gave a date of March 27!

I'm gonna try to order one at the beginning of April, crossing my fingers...

Not good... from Kraft Music:

September 2022 ETA for new pre-orders

"Based on recent fulfillment updates from Roland US, widespread availability for SP-404MKII is expected in August/September 2022. There are likely to be some smaller stock deliveries in the meantime for existing pre-order customers, but new orders placed today will have an early September ETA."

Not sure if this is from existing supply chain issues or if there's something else causing trouble. Hopefully other stores aren't having the same issues...

September 2022 ETA for new pre-orders
Damn that’s discouraging. I’m in Vancouver, Canada, but have been checking some US sites to get an idea. Chicago Music Exchange says “New orders estimated to ship by 10/31/2022”

I bought the SP-202 when it came out and the SP-808 a few months later. Still have my beloved 808, but it likes to eat zip disks so I can’t use it for sampling anymore and haven’t in 15 years. Can’t wait to get back into the SP world with the MK2. Glass half full- at least I can delve into my new TR-8S and Behringer TD-3, but really most stoked to start sampling again.

Any other British Columbians or Canadians here?

Good question, but I think you may have to research old posts and you might find a few Canadians. But can’t promise they’re local to you. I’m south of Seattle if you ever make the trip here.

Ok thanks, bro! I love Washington State. Hoping they actually build that high speed rail between Vancouver/Seattle/Portland. Wouldn’t be done until 2035 though apparently

Got an email from the store I ordered my MK2- Roland has no updates or information on backorders at the moment. :(

The Youtube-User "BoBeats" accidently released a video about the new firmware update to early. Video is private or deleted now, but Headline was "This update is huge! Step Sequencer! Polyphonic Sample Play!"

...we' ll know more soon i guess. 8)

EDIT: Part of the video, showing bobeats using step sequencing is online here:

Hehehe, believe me bro, if I could get my hands on one I would be more than happy to hand over the cash for it, I'd buy it in a heart-beat!!!

I just saw Liam Killen's comment in the other thread and it does sound as if they're starting to get out there a bit more now, but unfortunately that is not the case here in England.

They're still estimating four-to-six weeks for stock to arrive over here

It's an awesome update though, very impressive, although I'm saddened to see there's still no Touch Wah (fucking hell), and one of the reviewers seem to indicate they might have crippled the chromatic, polyphonic playing to two octaves (so again, fucking hell).

I'm still wanting to buy one, but like I said, I can't find a retailer over here with stock.

what about the Variphrase improvement? i've heard about it, let me know in case thanks;)

Edit
i think is that part (taken from the Roland site)
BACKING
Suitable for instruments with attenuation. It is especially suitable for phrases that include instruments with a distinct attack (Drums, Percussion, Guitar rhythm, etc.).
ENSEMBLE
Suitable for sustained instruments. Especially suited for smooth tone changes (e.g. Strings, Bass).

I have to ask, so does this Variphrase thing they added stop you from being able to pitch samples the normal way by speeding them up and slowing them down?

I really hope not, I hate pitch-shifting algorithms so I hope I can just turn a knob to speed up and slow down to change pitch the old-school way.

WTF! The variphrase algorhytms sound so smooth!
I really liked the normal pitch-function before, but these functions are way better! SP-USER, don't worry, the normal pitch and timestretch functions were not touched with the update.

it's strange but compared to the previous convincing examples i posted before (https://youtu.be/d4mzvKf8tAc?t=549
https://youtu.be/-IQbT-7SUAI?t=71), this new one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9B7IccSx90&t=276s is not convincing me that much, here the Vari mode seems much as the sp505 pitch function or at least the mc-909 pitch/timestrech function, wich is cool, but is not as good as the VP9000 or the V-Synth ones from Roland (early 2000s machines, i have the second one)...

btw, if you have possibility, could you do some test please? Thanks
