Sorry for waiting. I hope the larger selection of samples can compensate for this.

Interesting post considering my MKII might have arrived. I won't be participating this time even if Jethro Tull is from Blackpool, although I will be making judgement on the participants!

Enjoy your barbeque, but beware the spiked sausage

ah what a shame, guess i can't participate since i use pattern sequencer (patterns have to be bounced to something else, can't resample them)

I thought you was a wizard with that thing, Zindan?
No excuse, do it live and resample instead of using the sequencer

resample method is really just a hack for amateurs IMHO
onboard resampling is only a recent advent in digital sampler capability
everyone knows i'm a purist when it comes to producing with hardware

If anything, I would have thought it would be the other way around. Surely playing live and resampling it takes more skill than sequencing it?

Should be no problem for a purist like yourself, Zindan, although I must admit I would have allowed bouncing from a recorder, but on the other hand I like that TGN has set strict SP rules. As far as I'm aware, all SPs resample so you shouldn't need to bounce to your tape deck (which I assume is what you was getting at).

Anyway, he put up some nice samples so personally I think you should still give it a go.

lol i can make a resample beat in under 5 minutes
low quality bait

how do you think you make a pattern in the sequencer? do you think you hook up a desktop keyboard and mouse to the sp303? you play it live, then it plays it back for you, dipshit

and no, you can't resample patterns dipshit, you have to bounce them to something

every single SPBB i've ever participated in has been made on either SP-404SX, SP-303, or SP-202 and bounced to either SP-404SX, SP-303, or SP-202

except like one or two where the host allowed bouncing to tape decks

Well I thought my suggestion was perfectly civil, but since you've taken-on that attitude, no "Dipshit", I think you make a pattern in the sequencer using multiple overdubs to make it easier, and just in case you've got the finger-drumming skills of a lemming with a hangover, you even have the option to quantize it.

Perhaps that's why you need the sequencer so much and no one else here's crabbing about it?

1 - Sample TGN's provided samples into your SP
2 - Use often touted skills to create a beat using real finger drumming and resampling
3 - Upload beat and provide link

Of course, if doing it the hard way is a bit too much for you, that's ok.

Yours Truly,
SP-USER (Helping to cure the incurable)

Of course you can use the sequencer. But yes, drums have to be taken from the samples, too. Be creative! :)
