Just got my sp808 up and running. Got one locally for dirt cheap, but needed some soldering done to get it fully operational. Does anyone have any FX patch modifications that they've made and would like to share? Would be cool to see what others have done with modifying the FX patches on this thing!!

It's an OG model with an updated zip 250. Somehow I don't think it had the updated EX OS when I picked it up, but I ended up upgrading it to the EX software. Scored it for $60, seems like someone spilled something and fried some of the tactile switches. Just had to open it up and replace the bad ones and now it's working just fine!

Really looking forward to sampling with this thing!! Going to pick up a USB zip reader this weekend to load on some drum kits too.

I'm using the SP - 808 EX alongside the 404 OG /303 and some Akai gear mostly ..just upgraded the Zip Drive recently on the EX as it'd been out of action for a while.

Also got an OG 808 like yourself but it's in need of some minor attention ..I need to get the machine up and running as I've always loved the creativety of fucking around with 2 of the 808s. It make for a great workflow to say the least.

I'm getting ready to drop a fresh 250 zip drive in it and keep the one it came with as a backup and got a bunch of brand new zip 250 disks so I'm set until there's some sort of CF/SD alternative unicorn. Using this with m8 tracker and renoise for sample mangling and adding some nice dust to my samples. Thankfully I have a launchpad pro mk3 and can use that for sequencing and I also have some other midi gear like an rk-006 so I can wrap other sorts of USB midi gear into the mix with the sp808 pretty easily. This thing is super fun to use already!

Thankfully none of the chips/smd components were messed up, I'm sure that makes repairing any of these difficult. It'd be cool if I could source a replacement screen/screen cover as mine didn't come with one.

I can possibly help you out with SP 808 parts ..I've got a few spares kicking around,there's also other heads on the forum who rock these machines so check the SP 808 tips and tricks section while you're here dude .
