Am I missing something, or is there nowhere else to discuss the MKII here? Looks like I'm not able to post in/view the MKII subforum.

Why is a place that's historically been the best place to discuss these machines suddenly so inadequate when the first real update to the SP line in a decade happens?

Are you looking in the SP 404 MK 2 Tricks and Tips section @Boish ?

Just clicked on there myself but it just says 'You do not have permission to view this content' .

Maybe send a PM to one of the admins here on the forum.. pretty sure they'll have an answer to the issue.

The site really could do with an overhaul and bringing up to date tbh ..it's pretty frustrating at times to navigate around this place to say the least.

No worries bro, sleepynumb already did that and it appears it does not have Touch Wah. That said, I'm still confused about what the proper names are and in fact AKAI might not even have it named wrong because I saw an actual analogue pedal from MOOER the other day called an "Auto Wah" even though it was the type I am after and even has an envelope logo printed on the front.

So the whole "Wah" situitaion is as follows:

- I need the Dynamic Envelope type, not the LFO type.
- Roland/Boss call it "Touch Wah".
- AKAI and some hardware pedal maufacturers call it "Auto Wah".
- The Roland MC-101 and MC-707 have "Touch Wah".
- The new AKAI MPC range has "Touch Wah" but call it "Auto Wah".
- The SP-404MKII does not appear to have "Touch Wah".

What a confusion, it's enough to drive a totally sane person insane

All I got to say is this thing is incredible!I was having frustration at first but now having spent more time and submitting to its workflow, this new 404 is where its at. I actually like the pads now and the skipback and resample is crazy!! This is a game changer and I have a feeling there's going to be a whole new style created from this machine.....

I have several questions already for those who got theirs :

- Whats your firmware? Mine says 1.01
Guess i have to update it already via SD Card

- The Skip back doesnt seems to work on mine, the mark pad is never blinking
Is it related to the firmware? Anyone exeprienced it?

Will give a proper review once all this is settled
You need to download the latest firmware (1.13), available on the Roland website. Have a clean SD card. It should contain the two unzipped files and nothing else. This activates skipback and fixes a few bugs.
Okay, so a quick update on this so everyone will know.
I just tried to update the firmware and it didnt work.
I have a mini sd card (64gb) with adapter, when turn on with shift pressed i get the message UPDATER0 blank UPDATER1 blank NO UPDATER
I tried to format the SD card from the SP it says No SD Card...but its there
SO either the mini sd card with adapter doesnt work and i need a normal one, OR it doesnt support 64gb..I bet its the adapter that F up

I believe the mk2 does not support sd-cards higher than 32gb.

I read about this one works well: SanDisk Extreme Pro 32 GB SDHC (95 MB/s, Class 10, U3, V30)

My second order is still on-hold. Don't know whats up. I have the MK2 already from GC so I shouldn't stress it, but damn, it was in Oct I preordered.

I do have a third order with Musiciansfriend.com too. They told me by end of Dec. and that I'm at the top of that list.

Will sell them to one of you out there in SP land soon.

No inflated prices but shipping will coexist.

I'll post up as soon I get a shipping notice that its coming my way as a heads up.

If its from Musician'sfriend the total is $527.00 USD fedex and if its from Meadows, that total is $576.00, they use UPS. Again, not being greedy, but thats the MKII + shipping for I live on an island, I don't get free shipping at all like you guys up in the states. If you willing to pay that price, I have to sell them anyway.

But I really want yall to own one :D
