Another noob Q?

Can someone suggest a good (that means free) program to convert mp3 to wav format?
My desktop is down so I have to use the junky ol' laptop.

I was not able to DL audacity for some reason.
Actually, its because I dont know how to adjust my download manager; :? The audacity site said to turn off auto DL but Im not that smart.

I did get CDex to work perfect but I cant find the folder with the converted sample.

Turntables are much easier for me...no computer to argue with.

Thanks for the responses, though, guys.

mp3 to WAV

Post by HxC »

iTunes can do it as well.

I'm sure you know that there is no way to magically bring back the fidelity from mp3 to WAV- it simply 'smashes' the audio into the WAV format.
Kinda like taking a high-rez digital pic of a photcopy.

So is there another way thats better?
Route computer though mixer with firewire capabilities and just sample directly? maybe? I was looking at this anyway

CDex puts everything in your Music folder or a folder you choose in the settings.
