I wish I knew. But I think by 2022 is the best case scenario for many of us. Wether that’s pre ordering or waiting until it’s at your local shop is when we won’t have to wonder. I can’t wait to include it with my other SPs though!

Me too, dudes cancelling their preorders. The thing is, Roland said by end of Oct, but things didn't turn out so well, they could've said Jan. and I wait til then. Gives me time to save up and set up.

Been experimenting with rendering images to Roland's monochrome bitmap. Its pretty tough if you think you can load up some pics at the get go. This app can be downloaded at PlayStore, called All File Converter. It can render any image format to .BMP monochrome.

As you can see in the first row, too much detail and its a white mushroom holding a cigarette. So I decided to go ink and paper and though even better, some areas are distorted in the second row. For the third row, I decided to go pencil and paper and no detail, and thats the result. I have to experiment further using negative fx to get a black background.

Good to know stuff, because I wouldn't be doing this shit if I actually had the MK2, I'd be making beats.

BTW, nice work on that guitar making, hadn't watched that stuff before but it's a thing of beauty!
A sort of raw beauty.

Thumbs-up to you for crafting it without a CNC these days, same with the pick-ups:

His guitar stuff will probably be put on hold for a while when he gets his MKII though
EDIT: No, he'll likely start sampling it!

Hey that reminds me, the Mk2 is going to work great for guitar players. Which one of us plays guitar? It’s not me, that’s for sure!

The little prick told me GC was getting a shipment on Oct. 19th, I imagined he told every caller that. He deserves it

5 years ago I never imagined I'd be building guitars. I was so hiphop, electric guitars were taboo because it was so mainstream at the time. But after listening to Jimi Hendrix live playing Catfish Blues, I was just in awe at the sound and how he handled that guitar, as if he was just squeezing it and melodies poured out.

Got into the guitar community. Yall would hate and despise it. I do. Mostly snobs and perfectionists that bow to Gibson guitars. So I left quickly and found cigarbox guitar community, which are my kinda people. They make playable guitars out of junk. They taught me so much. Whats crazy is that they too, like their guitars sounding trashy and lo-fi, drums need to be crunchy.

All I want to know, how will it handle my pedals going in the MK2? My main pedals are the BUM Fuzz and Metal-King, plus a HellBaby wah. Been having an issue sampling guitar with the SP606 a few months back. Was an ergonomic one because of plugging and unplugging from the back, can suck out creation. The MK2 can just get plugged in front and record when needed. Thats what I was looking for. We'll see how it works for my style.

It’s going to be interesting to see guitarists enter the SP market if they pull it off just right on the mk2. Most guitarists just want a simple looping pedal they can do overdubs & solos, and might have a cheap drum machine as either their metronome or possibly as a song sketch pad. Do they want to perform their drum beats like most of us on 12-16 pads? That’s the question. But as long as they can figure out how to sequence their beat, and play their leads or rhythms on their axe, they should be happy.

I know sometimes guitar players are very anal on having the right tone or sounds they want. And I don’t know if they’ll be happy with the results. But it’s a sampler, not a Marshal stack cabinet that turns to 11! Lol

It will be interesting. I’ll be using my mono synths with mine, that’s for sure!

I understand, sincerely, I have much more respect for those who can craft something with soul from pieces of junk, than someone who can load-up a preset and press go on a CNC machine. They're a different kind of people with a different kind of outlook on life I think - a different kind of mentality altogether.

That's not to take anything away from the use of CNC, mind you, I strongly believe CNC is perfectly valid as long as you design the stuff yourself, although like I said, I have more respect for those who do it all manually.

This guy does it right!

Incorporates guitar and the force of the MK2. Also answers my question about using with pedals and it does it good.

If I had a CNC machine, I'll be making guitars all day. That was one of the things I didn't like about the guitar community, luthiers were like "without a CNC you are nothing" as well as "use exotic woods or its garbage" meanwhile Fender been using high quality plywood for years, but those are some of the myths passed around. They make you think you need big money to make guitars. Thats why I left, because I knew I could use my home tools but needed the right guidance.
