the sample does not have the wiggle room you claim it does, you want it to be flipped to the same rhythm and cadence that it already has, a BASIC flip with little to no change to the sample because it ALREADY HAS THE RHYTHM OF A HIP HOP BEAT

The reason I call bullshit on your claim is because it surely is bullshit. It's not as if I just called BS and didn't explain myself (my posts are crazy descriptive). I even gave you an example of what Necro did with Francis Lai's Melissa, just to prove the point, and it appears to have gone in one ear and right out the other. How on earth can you claim what you claim when you have complete freedom to use as little of the sample as you wish (within reason of course)?

I'm completely new to this Hip-Hop lark and for all I know there might be something I'm not understanding here, but I don't think so. I really have no idea why you feel so limited or forced into any specific style by the track. You have complete freedom to sample external synth or guitar, and you have complete feedom to choose any part of the sample you wish to use!

Surely as long as it's clear you based the track around the one provided, then you're on track. I mean, if what you say is true, then would you mind explaining to me how the fuck Francis Lai's Melissa, a song written about love and romance, was transformed into something representing the grotesque and macabre to such good effect by Necro?

Surely it is down to talent and imagination bro, and like I keep trying to get into that radioactive head of yours, no one is asking you to take the whole sample, you're no more limited than Necro was, you have complete freedom within the confines of your SP and whatever you choose to sample into it, I mean how much freedom do you need?

Love you bro, seriously, but you need to stop talking shit, because fact of the matter is your imagination is really your only limit here, it's not the sample, you should be exited beyond belief over a sample like that! I think what's really bumming you about it is that I didn't provide you with a supporting sample to use along with it. That decision was VERY deliberate and in fact I already had a two-sample SPBB in mind before I got an answer from LoopmantrA. Once he gave the go-ahead though, I put more thought into it cause I really wanted something that would separate the men from the boys, and to see you achieve it with a classy peice of music.

The original two-sample SPBB I had in mind was actually based on a Francis Lai track just as Necro's track was, and you'd have even been given an interview track to build into it somehow. The subject matter of the interview track would have worked perfecly with the tone of the main sample, and it would have resulted in some seriously foreboding tracks no doubt, but like I said, I thought it might be a bit too easy for you, not much of a challenge.

I'm aware that combination could have resulted in some seriously atmospheric and deeply foreboding work, but like I said, perhaps a bit too easy, no???

So no excuses dude, you're as free as everyone else is to take a pass on this SPBB, and that's absolutely fine, but you're not convincing me it's because of the sample. It's a pity I don't know this Necro guy personally, I'm guessing he'd be able to knock-out something equally killer as Dead Body Disposal with a sample as good as the one you have been given here. I'm also guessing good ol' Bach would laugh his fucking ass off if I told him this shit. I expected it to separate the men from the boys, but fuck me, I didn't expect that sort of excuse.

On the bright side, we now have a participant, and regardless of his reason for participation, I'll be paying another visit to good ol' Bach in the near future and dropping him links to the track of everyone who participates.

- You've got plently of time.
- You've got plenty of freedom.
- You've got a VERY classy piece of music to work with (It's Bach/Santisteban FFS).
- You've got no excuse other than being incapable or simply not feeling it.

Fact is, you'd fail even with the two original samples I intended to provide if you were not in the right frame of mind for it, not 'feeling' it, or your imagination just isn't sparked by it.

That's fine of course, just don't blame the sample, that's just not cool bro, and the only thing "gay" about it are those too limp-wristed to do the sample some justice!

Hey Sparkledougless, despite the obvious sarcasm in the way you structured that track, I hate to tell you this but I still kinda enjoyed it. I thought the flamming on the beat made it sound sloppy and mis-timed, and I thought the samples used for the drums were not hard-hitting enough, so it's a shame you did that, but it was still oddly appealing enough to make me listen to it three times now already (no shit)!

Like I said, the power is in understanding the hook, and where to hook it, cause once you get that right, you could get away with anything with that sample cause it's pretty much a hook from start to finish. So while our radioactive friend here can't even find a suitable chunk of sample to play with, you on the other hand have managed to produce something oddly appealing through sarcasm.

You literally cannot fail with that sample unless you're a complete and utter failure, so much so that your sloppy (sloppy to the point of flamming) beat, still kinda works! Someone has even 'Liked' your upload already and it wasn't me, I'm not even a member of SoundCloud!

he directly sampled a phrase and didn't alter it in any way except for augmenting on it

i do that in a LOT of my beats, but i do it with very underground samples and i'm not trying to flip the same sample in more ways than one, am i? i usually flip a song once, and that's it. with an SPBB, the intention is to have multiple people flip the sample in multiple distinct and creative ways.
