LOOP: loved the lofi bit crushing you used, nice use of the strings and the scratching worked really well. EPIC beat. Nice changeup too, gave it some nice variation.

King pagan: Vocal sample worked well, love the djfx looper on vocal samples. Nice use of the samples and grimy bass!!!

Abuse is ok: I actually considered using sepultura as an acapella but it didnt work on my beat! Nice use of the samples. Those drums were pounding too. Sweet and grimy bass line!

Green Dutch: Loved that you used both samples provided. REally gave it variation and clear progression! Love a bit of hiss coming through too! Amazes me how some of you guys can get 3 and half min tracks from the samples! good work

GIS: Loved the overall lofi sound from the mix. ended too quickly, was really getting into it and felt it could've gone on a bit longer. Enjoyed how those voices (perhaps from radio?) were swirling in and out.

Noddy headed freak: Liked how it started off with the sample and then those decimated crunchy drums, had an 8 bit video game vibe! Also loved the little pauses.

Soyto Alloko: Took me to another dimension with the intro, other worldly!!!
I liked how you took a different approach with the drums, instead of a kick, snare pattern.

Zendan: Love the use of the reverb in the drums, giving them that live, spatiel feel. Diamonds sample worked really well too as did the scratching. Nice use of the strings samples. Liked how it switched at 1:46 point, dropping the strings. Was that a synth or the sample doing those little videogame style melodies?

Was really tough, my faves were loop, dutch and soyto but Zendan gets my vote.

i feel disabled. cant really decide which i like best.
everybody made real nice beats, each their own style
gonna give it to pagan coz of that baseline and the clap
real bounce

my own beat feels like super lousy and low volume compared to all your shit. damn, shouldave slapped a multiband and a limiter on the track. its like i m gonna sent it to be mastered or smthin. lol

Super dope battle fellas. Very slick samples. I went with King Pagan on this. Shit was raw with the dope synth and sick drum work. Everyone had some fine elements working it wasn't a walkoff.

My notes:
loop - so sweet. with a touch of strangeness
asha - nasty flip. very good. sick. art.
king - dirty with a slow flow. dope.
abuse - skilful. very sp.
green - mastery. great use of melodies.
noddy - crushed. juicy. charming.
soyto - different. works very well. big like.
zendan - tight. love the strings. exotic lo-fi vibe.

loop and zendan are twin beats...

hard choice. I vote Zendan.

gave it to king pagan, how tf did you get that snare to sound so dam phat??? i was struggling so much with getting the snare to sound right and still wasn't happy with it in the end lol, that bassline is bouncin and those laser sounding fx samples are sick af, great DJFX looper usage, great adlibs, great chops, all around banging beat

honorable mentions:
green dutchie, the way you blended the two samples together in the intro was sick as ffffffffffuck and love the drum sequencing (also love the corny action flick edit, great visuals for the beat)

noddy headed fuck, nice phat low sample rate bop, love the chops, very head nod inducing

everyone i didn't mention, this round was full of heat, really enjoyed hearing what everyone brought to the table and also enjoyed myself when i was cooking up my lame flip

damn i was about to vote for green dutch too  would've had a three way tie! i shouldn't have second guessed myself, would've been so exciting!! wanna thank gis_sweden and asha c for the votes and kind words, means the world to me <3 [especially since i put waaayyyy too much effort in on this round xD in total there are 17 unique sample chops, 10 unique patterns in the sequencer, 3 unique live played synthesizer loops, and a bunch of shitty scratching] also wanna thank whoever the third vote was? come on people, leave comments when you vote!! been noticing this a lot in the arena lately, and the only time people have a problem with it is when it happens to me bc everyone's got beef with my ass in here.
looks like king pagan is about to take it 8) make sure you bring something exciting to the table for the next SPBB!!!

i'm honestly glad i tried way too hard on this round tho bc it got me really hyped on making beats again! i've been in a massive slump lately; life's been seriously fucking me in the ass as of late... hopefully i'll keep it up! if pagan brings some heat to the next SPBB, it will definitely help 8) looking forward to it my guys <3

we're waiting on king.pagan, the winner, but he seems to have ghosted us
i even tried DMing him on soundcloud

i'll probably give it a couple days then make a post in this subforum asking everyone what they think we should do!

Yeah, I agree. Zendan as second should set it up, that's the only reasonable move imo
