Not going to cast my vote since I didn’t put an entry in, but I’m glad I allowed anything external for bass, got to hear you guys add to the chops as well as do what you can with them. And that NES Poly (I think is what it is?) that Null used is KILLER!
for me it was a choice between ryba, ellaguru, and compressing fire.
ryba - i thought the atmospheric samples went good with the dnb/jungle style drums.
ellaguru - the chops i liked on this entry and the sound quality
compressing fire - i thought the beat was good from beginning to end
Man, it's a tough round. Everyone brought some heat.
I wanted to vote for ellaguru, those boom bap style chops you come in with are heavy as shit, but the drums are messing with me. I guess I was expecting to hear harder hitting drums.
I went back and listened again and ryba's track really stands out in terms of detail and composition. There's a lot going on and it all sounds good.
Voted Compressing Fire. Because of my new NES mini? hm.. Just kidding. I like the beat, the whole feel of the track, the bassline. I only think bass and open HH is too loud against the rest. Just for my taste.
