SP-404A - Did this catch anyone off guard?

I've been aggressively hunting down as much info as I could find on the sp404sx before finally getting my hands on two brand new units a week ago, and seemingly out of nowhere they announce an Sp-404A. I'm blown away because I've heard nothing about it, but at the same time I'm happy I got the sx since it looks like they haven't changed anything other than make the case a little darker and added green highlights. I haven't seen a price listed yet either, so it's hard to say if that could be one of the changes. I'm just wondering if this caught anyone by surprise, because I figured if any announcements had been made I would have seen some inkling of it within the past two months.

I was surprised about the announcement as well. The SP-404A caught me off-guard as well.
In no way was I going to slow down my research on its predecessors and that is when they announced this product.
I am waiting for the specs to be as competitive as the earlier models of the same series.
