hi, only the 202 and the 808 got the real pitch beteween the sps
a workaround could be to change the bpm and use the 2 pitch fx to reach the desired effect, sure, not the best solution, but who knows

i just saw that there is a device a Boss VT1 that helps a few guys.

You have to use something outside SP404...

Boss VT1 is not good in this. I have it just for a short time, still have to find out what to use it for... But it's not good in pitchshifting samples...
Also it doesn't change the speed, just works the same way as SP404 pitchshifting works...

this is THE physical property that boss/roland were trying to emulate with their pitch FX on the 202
when you slow down a cassette or a vinyl record, it sounds lower in pitch as well as slower. it's an incredible phenomenon. this is why DJ screw was so legendary. it sounds amazing if it's the right song and you're just doped up and drunk enough! my nakamichi 3 head 2 capstan speed control every type tape deck sounded fucking incredible at the lowest speed. i have a couple beats i made with it that i used that speed control to pitch down/slow down and they sound fucking amazing with that. i have many many beats that i slowed down on my record player before i even sampled them, and it also made them sound amazing.

this is a beat i've had unreleased for several years now, but i used my record player to slow down/pitch down the sample (you might recognize the sample from special herbs/mf doom but i found the record back in 2015 for $1.00 barely playable SO many skips and so much crackle!!!) it's actually a recreated/remastered version of the second beat i ever made on my 303 back in 2015/made the remastered version around 2017 (also made it with only 303 and vinyl, same drum break and everything!) cus these haters were talking shit about how the first version was mastered so poorly (and they were right )

Yes, there is with the DJFX looper.

Turn CTRL 1 all the way down.
Turn CTRL 3 all the way down to OFF.
Adjust CTRL 2 until you get the desired effect.

You can also play with CTRL 1, but the lower it is generally sounds better.
This pitching adds little warping artifacts to the sound, not as bad as MFX 21, but it is completely usable to pitch down a sound slower.

yeaa this is the sauce hehe. its worth noting that the only "usable" ranges in this technique for CTRL 2 range from 1.0 to like 0.3 at most. but music is subjective, so go wild
