New Member with Question!

Post by ashtray »

Hello all! I don't have an sp yet because I have a question before I purchase one. What are the differences between the sequencer and resampling workflow in the sp-303 and the sp-404sx? I've heard that the 303 is better because of it's gritty character, but that doesn't matter TOO much to me because I have a cassette recorder to bounce stuff through but if the sequencer workflow in it is similar to the sx I might as well...

thoughts?

**EDIT**
Just ordered the 404sx yesterday, should come in next week :D

**EDIT 2**

A SP303 & SP404 more or less are the same price, but you can do much more with a SP404. However, the SP303 has that lo-fi charm and sound. The SP404 sounds much clearer & clean. So all it boils down to is which sound you’re after. Think of it like this;

SP303-Poor man’s EMU1200
SP404-Poor man’s MPC2000

Not saying they’re anywhere close to the same though.
