Basslines from old reggae songs!

Some of yall might know this but im still gonna share my knowledge to everyone.. lets say u have a sample with a heavy bassline attached to it and u wanna get it out from the sample.. Use the C. Canceller with lows turned all the way up and everything else turned all the way down. youll notice every other instruments dissapear from the mix.. if u still hear some mids and highs u can always use the isolator to get rid of em. i've built banks of basslines and hits using this method!!

yeh sweet man ill try that. By the way, reggae records is somethin i need to get into me thinks. I love my reggae, but when it comes to diggin, i wouldnt know where to begin. Anybody care to point me in the right direction?

catch a train to Melbourne and spend the day digging!
probably alot more op-shops and vinyl stores in and around the city than out where you are

Check out Black Uhuru, most of the rhythms were done by Sly & Robbie.

Haha yeh id have to agree! Theres the odd Vinnies/Savo's with some wax here n there...and one record store that seems only to stock classic rock records from the 60s-80s...some motown but other then that i need more veriety. I hear The Record Corner is a n alrite spot...which is somewhere in the city right....like swanston or somthin? What Melbourne places you recomend?

do you mean Collector's Corner? that's on Swanston St, between Bourke and Latrobe...that place has heaps of good vinyl from ALL genres, but is pretty expensive

there's some shops called Dixons Recycled, one is in the city. they're a bit cheaper and usually have a good turnover of records, worth checking every month or so. Richmond has some great spots too and is just a short train ride from the city.

but i find the op-shops to be the best bet; the vinyl is always cheap and always random! i've found some gems in strange shops when i've gone in out the blue to have a quick look
