Sp555 as MIDI Interface?

Post by Jauly »

It is written that the Sp555 can be used as MIDI/AUDIO Interface. I've got a synthesizer and it needs to be updated via Sysex, so I selected my Sp555 on the MIDI OUT ports of MIDI-OX (a little program to send sysex files and more), switched the SP555 to MIDI THROUGH MODE and sent the OS SYSEX files to the via MIDI OUT on the Sp555 connected Synthesizer.

So this is why I post now: Nothing happened.

Can the SP555 transmit sysex/MIDI data to it's MIDI OUTS that it receives via USB or is the MIDI Interface function a myth?

Best for 2009,

Paul

I did it trough 555 USB no problem, first with Waldorf Microwave XT, next day with EA-1 and Roland D2 that were loaded with patches.

I was using sounddiver software on PC

I was really happy about it.

Do you have both MIDI cables connected?
Did your software recognized your synth?
Can you back up the files from the synth... just to see if it works?
