The latest video is created on iPad using Koala, but it's the same approach on anything you might want to use. I take this for granted but I shared it this morning and a friend I've been making music with for 20 years said he'd got something from it so I figure it's worth a share:

Good stuff, Pete.. been watching a couple of these videos you've done.

Seriously, mate - keep an eye on your local Smack Converters. Any iOS device - phone or ipad - that runs iOS 10 and above is good to go. That's anything from an iPhone 5s, an iPad Mini 2 or iPad 5th gen upwards. I run it on an iPhone 6s that I bought off Matt Rockwell for under a ton. Works a treat!
Cheers for watching, dude!

Re: The ancient art of drum chopping
Why exactly do we even call it drum chopping? The ancient art of copying a certain record’s individual drum sounds onto a pad? (Bonham’s Snare, Moon’s Tom’s, etc), or taking a existing drum loop and making it unrecognizable from the original sample and your own loop??
No right or wrong answers, just your 2 cents.

Pleasure, wiploc - glad you dug it, man
Headphones - Because we're taking the loop and chopping it into its component parts (i.e. kick, snare, closed hihat, open hihat, tom etc)
