Hi I just recieved my SP 404 today and ive been reading the manual all day.. i have tons of drum kits and was wondering how can I put them on the CF card to make a pattern. The pre loaded stuff is really not my style..
if anyone can drop a few beat making tips or point me to a nice tutorial...i'd greatly appreciate it.. the manual just doesnt give a good visual..
New to SP 404..Few questions...

delete all those presets!! you have to unlock the A Bank first (by turning the SP on and holding a certain button, check the manual)
you can drag .wav files onto a CF from your computer, or record your drum sounds in via the SP's inputs.
once your drums are in, try this: use quantize 4 and lay your snares on the offbeats, then quantize 8 for hi-hats, then quantize 16 for your kickdrums. as you get more comfortable with the machine you won't need the quantize settings, but they're good to start with
