can we use SP 555 as a Drum machine? Please help...

well i finally figured out #4
i had no success using sonar so i tried cool edit.
I set up the input to a track from the 555. (midi, via usb)
then i set the output to my computers sound card or whatever.
any ways after recording i went to "file", "save as", and it gave me the option of saving as a .wav file, which i did
now i can finally battle and post beats and shit

yeah cooledit is a neat little program...

in sonar you should be able to save to .wav as well -- it might be under "save as" or "export as" or something like that.

First of all I have a very sharp ear.

1. Any loop or sample recorded through line-in will never record the original sound. Listen very carefully. Whether you are taking a stereo from a mixer, individual instrument, CD player, MP3 player, etc. I've tested source from everything. You can record or sample from all the sources but the sound quality is not the same. You listen carefully and you will know the wide difference. Not a good idea to use line-in in studio recording.

2. The Microphone/Hi-Z on the front panel records exactly the way you send any sound from any source. Though it's mono the recorded loop/sample sounds perfectly the same as it is from the incoming source. One drawback...it's mono but nevertheless you use the left jack/channel from your synthesizer/sequencer/drum machine/midi, etc. This solves the problem.

3. I've also come to know that the factory sound level is pretty high which came on Bank A compared to loops and samples we record. Any loops and samples that we record ourselves sound lower (volume). This is not a big problem because who really plays the factory sound.

SP555 is getting more and more perfect as we share and enhance our ability to manipulate the machine.
