Chip Maestro (Midi Interface for the NES)

Post by deeconstructed »

Has anyone ever used one of these? I just came across it, looks amazing. A cartridge for your old Nintendo with a midi hookup so you can play the sounds of the NES sound chip. Interesting way to get some true raw 8 bit sounds. I may have to pick one up.

I remember 9planets was making these midi inputs with Sega genesis units. I believe the poly is higher on the genesis and the chip is very similar to the FB01.. which is an amazing FM synth once you dive in and learn to edit it.

But to answer your question - no, never got one of these, just used the :!: Peach VST instead.

No.. It looks great.., Im guessing these guys also created haunted 86, that game was also released on the xbox this year or maybe last but I do remember checking out the preview and thought about buying it for the style and sounds..
