Creating new bank?

Post by djak24k »

First post...hi everyone, you're fuckin awesome.

So I just pulled my SP-404 out after a long break from music production...

Annnd I needed a new bank. I had the banks 1&2 backed up on a card and wanted to start fresh for a project and I was just wondering, how do I create a new bank?

The way that got me by was by Saving the current bank to a new pad (Func+6) and loading said bank (Func+5). However it took a looong time to save and just as long to load the bank. Then I went through deleting pads and patterns like a madman. Is there any faster way?

whenever i need a fresh bank i find one that has sounds i dont need/beats that are finished and i either delete them or transfer them to a hardrive

best not to save banks in the internal system youll forget about them and then eventually run out of space there too

I think I know what you mean, but it sounds like you're talking about banks A-J. I mean the banks 1-12.

You have the banks A-J but you also have the ability to save A-J in it's entirety (all samples and sequences) and load a completely new set of existing A-J banks.

I'm wondering how to create a new A-J banks, a fresh slate?

you can put your sd into the computer, highlight all the files and delete them

not sure if that would delete your backup saves too tho. ive never used the feature youre talking about on my sx

I don’t know if you still need help with this, but if you initiate a backup load, you can hit delete and choose a 1-12 bank to delete.
Func+5 (load backup)
Del (initiate delete)
Hit any 1-12 (to choose a saved backup to delete)
