Forum Mixtapes

I was thinking about making some mix-tapes with songs I like (from other musicians) and post it online on youtube or something. I didn't do it because well, we have millions of mixtapes around and it would be just one more on the sea. Well, that's not a problem, but it would not help anyone and if I wanna do some mixtapes, I can just do it for myself, there is no need to share it.

Yesterday I was looking into Distrokid and Landr, checking for some values and stuff and I realized that Distrokid allows two artists on its cheaper version. I don't know what it really means but it's probably like an artist name. I thought "what if this second artist (since I still looking to ways to put my stuff out there xD) was some kind of collective?". And here I'm.

My first idea is to release like two 20~25 minutes mixtapes per month. That way, the forum would put stuff out and maybe the people on the mixtape would get some visibility. It's just a way to bound everyone, make some tapes on the internet and finish beats.

Where would it be? Idk. It really could be through Distrokid with a cool artist/label name.

How would people feature into the mixtape? Since we would have a roof of 25 minutes and I don't wanna judge people's music, we would just pick the first ones on the first tape. On the second some rules would apply. "If you feature on a past tape, you don't have priority" and stuff like that.

What do you guys think about something like this?

It's a rough idea that I'm sharing. Any feedback and more ideas are very welcomed and more people on board would be amazing.

Great idea! I'm in! I recommend not to focus on a specific genre 'cause of the variety...and the rough character of the sp-family fits to all kind of music i think and will influence all tracks of a taoe a simular way...
