Generative Music

Very cool for ambient...

I'm using sample slots as tape loops, sampling sine tones.

The main idea I took from the tutorial was that looping samples of random and differing lengths produce generative music. The 404sx is great got this because each sample is like an individual tape loop. Once triggered they rarely repeat the same sequence twice and "self generate".

I recorded a thunderstorm then resampled into 404sx tweaking filter

I sampled the Digitone sine tones (very little synthesis) and looped them all at different lengths. The individual notes make up an Am7 chord. Because they are looped and various lengths, they do not repeat twice that I can tell.

I then recorded me playing the Digitone while the 303 was in record/resample mode.

Using piggyback cables to bounce back and forth between 404sx and 303 applying different effects

Oh, nice.

It sounds like polyrhythms in a sense. I'm trying to understand it, but note programming and drum sequence can gain a lot from it.
