Is this the trick where you go into delete mode (only 1 sample plays at a time in delete mode, so when you hit another pad it will cut off the sample playing)?
Or the sequencer trick? Keep samples in gate, at the same time the sample plays in the sequence, hit the pad to make it not play (aka mute).
Or assign a certain effect to all samples you want to mute in a sequence (certain effects can be used to mute sounds)?
