but if you peep his vocals on Lootpack . & Quasimoto ... Madlib is beyond underrated as an emcee . some of his content is very unique to who he is

he's an underground legend... music like this can never be mainstream... i don't think he's underrated but definitely not enough people have heard it as they should.... madlib is my idol, for his production and mc talents

Yeah good he's not mainstream. He's god. We wouldn't want to make god popular.

I’m still waiting on his next album. It would be a shame if he retired or quit. What’s he been working on or been up to?

He’s about to drop his second album with Freddie Gibbs. If you haven’t heard already, go listen to Piñata

Its just that there are more producers than emcees here, so they pretty much relate to Madlib's production.

I think his voice and flow are underrated. Grimey but smooth.

Agreed! Madlib is the shit. The legitimate leader of an entire underground movement.

Not to jack the thread but I feel Madlib & Doom r both in the under-rated double threat category. Doom’s production being as under-rated as Madlib’s rhymes... maybe not though. Special herbs is pretty well known I guess. Dude did forge a crazy unique sound... and also a 404 head I believe (Doom). At least I’ve seen him pictured w one.

Agreed that the Gibbs + Madlib collaboration is pure fire. Loved those beats.

A collab that wasn’t pure fire imo... Madlib + Strong Arm Steady. I kindof felt both artist were out of the pocket on that one. Stereotypes was a much better equation for SAS, matching talents w Statik Selektah. I didn’t think the instrumentals from In Search of Stoney Jackson were that great.

How bout Bad Neighbor album, w Madlib MED & Blu?

That I would like to hear.

After I heard thuggin' I thought I was a "G" for like three weeks till I got my ass kicked. I didn't realize my 90 year old white suburban neighbors were so tuff and nimble.

Great album and lyrics.
