With Mahavishnu Orchestra...fucking outrageous, killer moog solo on this.
The Lost Trident Sessions is the band with Jan Hammer on the keys at it's absolute finest in my opinion.

With Jerry Goodman..more straight up dope.

Re: Happy Birthday Jan Hammer
This was the guy who got us wearing boat docker shoes with no socks, and trying to be cool in school copying the Miami Vice look.
(Ok, that’s crocket & tubbs, but you catch my drift)
Still, he was definitely a MIDI champ of doing 1 man productions/film scores/soundtracks by himself. He probably used old school samplers, but it’s anybody’s guess which one?? (I would say Fairlight, but maybe he used Mirages???).
It would be interesting to give him a SP404, 1 synth, and 1 memory card to see what he could come up with, but I think he’s more of a musician than beat maker).
Well, he’s cast a shadow on me at least..

Definitely a musician.
I see myself on the cusp of being both a musician and a beat maker. He inspired beat makers as well (and by the looks of it, he inspired you too lol)
