MIDI channel question (weird one)

Post by FLUENT »

What up.

This is kind of an odd one. Since the 808 only outputs MIDI on channels 1-10, is there a device that can take an incoming MIDI signal, let's say, channel 1, and then switch it to a channel of your choosing, say channel 16? The incoming signal would be on channel 8 but the output would be of your choosing. Does something like that exist? Some obscure piece of vintage gear maybe?

No stress, I have one sitting in the studio serving exactly that purpose. Fairly rare but you can still occasionallygeta bargain

I'm gonna keep an eye out for one. Never been much of a MIDI guy but I figure might as well explore it more with the 808.
