iI recently got a sp-555. Its the first sampler i ever owned im more used to grooveboxes. I have only sat down with it twice for an hour each time. the sequencing and muting limitations kinda bummed me out a bit. and for some reason i thought there would be a synth engine?
what are your thoughts on the mc808vs the sp555 in terms of beat making and live ease of use?

2 very different things. If you want something that has its own sound engine then the 555 is not for you. The sequencers limitation are easily overcome with effect work arounds.
