Pocket Sized SP!!!

Post by ghost bazz »

Well... not exactly. But this app for the ipod touch/iphone is sick as hell!!!

http://intua.net/

You can add samples via remote server, and also send tracks and kits through wireless connection to other users. I got the app yesterday and played around with it... two thumbs up! The accompanying app for the remote file trans just became available today so I have yet to import my own kits and samples, but as far as sequencing and editing ability on all your samples... it's waaaaay solid. Purely a sample based production app, with unlimited channels in the midi sequencer, but only one pad bank to trigger from. You can export your loops as wav files and trigger em on the pads similar to loop capture on the 555. So technically you can find work-arounds for the limitations.

This app is the whole reason I copped my ipod touch and I figured I'd share it in case anyone on here doesn't know about it.

I can already tell it's gonna get me in trouble at work! 8)

hmmm... i don't think you can get songs from the app into an itunes playlist without doing it through itunes... if that's what you mean. I tried last night but couldn't figure out a way to do it.

that thing is cool, but different. The Moo 808 is more like a single instrument, whereas this is a whole app with a sequencer and 2 effect sends, to a choice of 3 dif effects... EQ, Delay, and Bit Crush (which I can't believe made it into the app!!!). Here's a link to the first beat I made... lemme know what you guys think. 2 of the 3 drum kits are sampled from a yamaha rm1x groove box and the other one is from an old battle... all the instrument chops are from the SP (digging in my old CF cards!).

Haha! Love it man. Tripping through space and time.

I haven’t messed with the PO’s yet, but the one that samples really has me intrigued. I love the concept of the pocket beatmaker/ instrument. I was just thinking about digging out my PSP the other day to mess around w Beaterator... if anyone remembers that one.

Portable beatmaking will always b the shit!

Anyway,
even if the PO-33 is portable, the mono sound repulse me.
BTW using iphone with garageband and a special line in adapter could be wayy more good

Yeah, I think they use the other channel on the cable to sync to another PO. Pulse on one channel and mono on the other.

Mono only used to both me also. The OP-1 broke me of this. Now I sample almost everything in mono on SP's. Unless it's something in the high frequency range. But lows always in mono.
