Oh, this is cool. To bend like this people usually hook a potentiometer on the last resistor that controls the voltage out. I don't know for sure, but it usually gates how fast the energy (and well, the wave) will be pumped to the output.

The problem with complex stuff like the sp404 is that you fry it way before finding this resistor lol and well... pitch-bending sounding "good" is quite hard XD

Yeah, I looked up LTC1799. Adjustable Oscillator Module. For about $10 you can take a chance at bricking your sampler. I glanced over some other tutorials where people had used them on drum machines and said something about taking the 'clock' out? I'm guessing that's a clock that regulates power in Hz? It would be nice to see a tutorial from this guy, for shits and grins.

I was at work yesterday and do not give a look into the LTC1799. Well, I do not 100% understood it on my 30 seconds looking but it's a circuit with some built-in functionalities. It's a bit different from just circuit-bending, but the risks are the quite the same.

The approach to circuit bending is something like: open a cheap shitty toy or whatever, get a ground cable and start poking around closing some patches to see in what way they will affect the whole thing, all this trying to not fry the circuits. With more complex gear like the sp404 the chances of it happening are way bigger lol and since the sp404 is hard chip/electronic based, it's very hard to know how anything works in there for real. But if you are experienced, you can do this hacks like the guy did, since this modulation thing usually is hooked on that resistor I said, the hard part is finding it.

I think Clock out/in is for MIDI and I don't understand a shit about MIDI. I don't know how it outputs Hz, but yeah, if you modulate that you can - I think - modulate the rate of it.

I'm not versed in any of this things, I'm just poking with circuit-bending for like two months and haven't finished any project yet, so, don't really take my words lol

cool thing for SPs
i don't see it useful for the st224: it has pitch yet...it could be useful just to control pitch on live (but, again, you have that also on scratch effect -ST heads know what i'm talking about...)

It would be nice to apply pitch and compression at once.
