Flynn - Very liquid feel. I like that static/white noise. Bass bump too!
Yon. - The groove on this is nasty. In yo face type of beat.
Ghost Bazz - This shit is excellent! What more can I say?
Crane - Had me cracking up. Raw orgy action, no lube.
disDope/ratFuture - Fun beat. Driving bass. If R2D2 & Q*bert had a baby...
Kegeratorz - Dope lead, chill beat. All those sounds come off PO's?
drmnaga78 - Awesome drum work as always. Text to speech is crazy!

Nice work everyone! Glad you all showed up. Dropped a vote for Ghost Bazz.

Man, I've been sleeping on those. I got the expensive ass OP-1 a couple years ago, but when the PO's started coming out they didn't look that enticing to me. I might have to pick one up eventually. I'm waiting to hear people make beats with the new Speak.

Thanks for the feedback fam. 8)

Flynn - Nice sounds. Cool perc. Sounds like a haunted cartoon campground by the beach. I enjoyed this beat, but I missed the robot speech element.

Yon - Killer on the high-end. That squiggly synth that breaks down is sick. I like the little jam on the end.

Crane - Excellent text-to-speech. This funky little jam sounds like it came off a 90's dj record.

disDope - Sick sounds. This is dope. Feels like a scifi movie scene.

Kegeratorz - Funky synth. Sleepy good drums... nice snare.

drmnaga - Cool sounds. Got some industrial breakbeat stuff going on. The dialogue had a somewhat unsettling effect, but I liked it.

Voted disDope. Shout out to Hungryman for some next level rule calling. Great creativity displayed by everyone!

It's a great machine. It's really worth the price with all the features it has. It's built like a tank, real quality parts. The keys remind me of old computer keyboards that were clicky and springy, I loved those keyboards. Crisp sound or it can get dirty too. I kinda wish it had a few more features on the sampling side (time stretch mostly), but there are some workarounds to fake it. I always tell people to buy it as a synth and a 4 track tape recorder, then the 2 sampler engines are a bonus. The 6 sec and 12 sec sampling time sounds limited, but you can have multiple instances of these, record to tape, then load or sample even more. And the 4 track isn't limited either, because you can merge tracks or overdub adding to the same one. The 4 track tape is one of the best features imo. I can see SP guys liking it. It has some similar features, EXT source and it can resample from any point. It can be unforgiving like a SP. You have to do some planning while laying down beats. If you record/overdub over something or do live effect changes, it's done for good. So you have to duplicate parts on the tape in case you mess up. The effects sound great, they process in stereo even though it samples in mono. There are a few abstract effects that you might not use much, unless you make edm or ambient stuff. One thing I really like about it is, there are no load times. I mean you click it on and it takes a few secs to load. Then you hit a button, bam! It's in the sampler, hit another your playing synths, hit another straight to tape. It's really fast once you get the hang of it. I had a little bit of a learning curve using it, just because it such an unusual machine. Different from anything I've ever used. You might pick it up quicker, Kegz. Since your familiar with the PO's, I wouldn't doubt they have some similar functionality. TE has been pretty good with the firmware updates. Ever year or 2 they release one. A couple have added new synth engines and fx that it wasn't released with. So, I wouldn't doubt more are coming. But yeah, it's really a beast. I bet very few people have regret buying it. I need to quit neglecting mine. Probably time to pull it out for a synth battle. (Sorry for rambling, but buy that mofo, call it a b-day or xmas present to yourself, and never look back)

@Hungryman

Nice write up brother, doesn’t help my wallet. Ha! It’s a matter of when not if. With kids, new house and such it’s hard to justify at the moment but will find a way down the road.

I didn't figure that would help you guys with the GAS. I feel you, Kegz. I stared at the thing for 3 years before pulling the trigger. One december B&H Photo had a deal, for the regular price but with a free Volca Bass. I jumped on it. You guys might check over there from time to time. But yeah, hit me up if you have any questions on it. I'm no pro, but I'm always down to share knowledge on gear/software and learn from other cats also.

Different styles which is fun to hear. Voted disDope today. Hats off to yall properly using speech effects, I originally planned to play a synth line by typing aaaaa, ssssss etc. but forgot about the idea.

Hoping to participate in the next round.
