Dazs sampler expandable

Post by ZipSnipe »

This is pretty interesting http://www.dasz.com/

I haven't seen enough videos on it yet , looks like the same idea I had for my looper project but I am not sure what he is using for the engine if its a Raspberry or some other dev board.

You know after starting my looper project I can appreciate the pricing. The work that goes behind these grooveboxes is not for the feign hearted. Getting the software to work with the hardware, the bugs, kinks and revisions. The coding, if you guys could see the coding that goes behind it like I have you would see. Hardware alone my cost on a box similar to DASZ is around $180 thats just material, not the paint job, not the holes being laser cut or punched out by a 200 ton press.

Now me being a electronic musician of course I want it as cheap as I can get it. But hey I remember back in the mid 90's shelling out $1400 each for the mc 505 and the sp 808, worked my ass off to get them. And now much older I want it even cheaper so cheap I am trying to DIY a sampler lopper.

Any way , yeah none of it is cheap and I understand why.

I agree, even though I am making money right now, I still have a hard time justifying any more than $400 for a musical instrument. My last purchase was a Korg Karma for $500 but that was well worth it including the 4hour rnd trip drive to go get it.
