ALL SYNTH SP BATTLE #03

[noDDy hEAded fREak]

RULES
-beat style hip hop, underground, lo-fi
-must use a synth kick, snare, hat, lead, bass
-time limit 1:30
-all synths allowed (no samples)
-sequenced on SP
-vocal one shots allowed (no full acapella)

Poll runs for three days

Submissions due Friday the 26th.

I also might post some synth samples for anyone who doesn't have synths that want to enter. If anyone wants to do the same ill post the link in the OP along with the ones I post.

Drums/bass made with a ER-1, the other is from an electribe EA-1. All sounds were processed and resampled through the sp-505 with the exception of the vocal which was scratched in while recording to the computer.

Fun but I failed a bit, Went over time and although HipHop is my most listened to genre I am still pretty shit at making it!:) Still, think it would work with some melancholy rhymes over it, maybe because the weather is shitty here in Bristol at the moment.

Made with Korg FM and SP808 internal synth, sequenced on SP808

I got one. I have an MC-307 that has been chopped and screwed by a previous owner at some point to remove the sequencing side of the hardware and functionality (the dark gray plastic portion is gone if you have a mental image or actual pic). It works well as a multi-channel tone generator/synth w midi input coming from the pads of the SP-808... recording & sampling the output of the 307 into the 808 for processing and arranging.

That's dope. That opening synth is sick... reminiscent of the beat from "This is why I'm hot". Feeling the stripped down composition and scratching is once again on point.
