I have an RY30 and it sounds a million times better than those samples.... probably the same with most of the other machines too. You can't really expect to emulate a drum synth with samples any more than you can emulate a moog with a set of samples.

I like the lo fi cheesiness of the samples. When I use em i'll add efx and resample em anyhow! But, I agree a drum machine is bound to sound better than the samples.

Yeah man they are still worth getting if you don't have the real thing. I hate when I look back at something I've posted and think "what a pompous git I must sound like!!"...I do love my RY30 though - you can make the hugest 808-style booms with it :)

I dunno mahn...I didn't have any trouble with the samples I imported. Make sure your Cf card isn't full already. You could try opening them up into a soun editor and exporting them as a WAV again, and then try importing them. Maybe some of the short samples don't load up, so for that again open them up in a soundeditor and add a second or so of silence.

If you haven't got a sound editor on your puter try downloading Audacity its free.
