Kick compressed with mfx 12

Hey y'all,

Whenever I compress the loop I loose all definition/characteristics of my kick. Should I layer it or resample it over again? It's loud but it doesn't hit anymore.

Resample it and make the kick drum louder than the other sounds yo, it lets it keep its sound and it also sidechains it which is cool.
Something else I do is that I apply the compression to everything But the kick, so it keeps its nice thumping sound. Just keep trying stuff out yo, see what works and see what doesnt.
