Speakers to use with 404sx

Hello.. I'm new to the sp and I'm looking on buy some speakers to use with it but I'm not sure what I'm after. Do the speakers need the red and white line in at the back to work? Dumb question but I don't want to pay for something I don't need.. Took me long enough finding a good interface lol.. Would these work "PRESONUS
ERIS E5 (Pair)" or I was looking at "Mackie cr5 ones" I just don't know what I need out of them plus I've only got £200. Any advice on speaker monitors would be a great help..

depends what you like between the 2 different models

The Presonus Eris . each have their own power source . The Mackie .. operate off 1 plug on a chain.

The Presonus will most likely be the more quality purchase . however .. if you just need monitors . then save the extra cash between the 2 and go for the Mackie CR5

both sets of speakers can take either rca or jack

. also . The Eris have adjustable High - Mid - Low & and acoustic space parameters (what you would expect from active monitors such as these) definitely a more volatile model

.. as for the cables . I would advise : stereo 1/4 jack to dual mono 1/4 jack . and output from the headphone port on your SP . RCA I find gives out a lower base volum

always remember to turn down the volume on your equipment before turning monitors on (just a little tip to avoid speaker damage)
