What headphones you using?
I'm sure it's been asked before, sorry in advance. Looking for good even audio and comfortable headphones. Been using a pair of old beats headphones I took from the boy, did fine but time to upgrade.

ATH M50X in the studio, apple earbuds for casual listening
Re: What headphones you using?
Look into the Beyerdynamics if available. Don't think I can go back to regular pads after getting Beyers with velour pads. Absolute zero discomfort or sweating. The best.
Re: What headphones you using?
yes .. you want lightweight . closed back . n possibly active noise cancelling
personally I use £10 headphones cos its what I listen to all music on . not a good idea .. but fuck that . I wear headphones out at an exponential rate ..
.. zoikes!

I'm using Sennheiser PX200 MKI all day.

80 Ohm version of the DT770's. Velour pads out of the box, no absolute requirement to have an DAC/amp but still leaves the room to add one in the future, and I'm not planning to use them on the go so the 10ft. long cord is no issue for me. And hey, they sound good.Kegeratorz wrote:Yon. wrote:Look into the Beyerdynamics if available. Don't think I can go back to regular pads after getting Beyers with velour pads. More portable, and phone friendly, option would be the 32 Ohm version, but you'd have to buy the velours separate to get the same level of comfy. But yeah, choose according to your setup and plan of use.
Re: What headphones you using?
open back headphones will simulate studio monitors a lot better than closed ones... the purpose of noise cancelling head phones is so that no sound bleeds outside the headphone for recording... if youre just mixing already recorded sounds, that function is pointless. beats headphones are def trash tho compared to similarly priced sennheisers or ath's.. I got some ath-ad 1000x's but Idk if I would recommend them they have a great sound but you can do just as good for a better price/ theyre kinda heavyTHEGREAT wrote:yes .. you want lightweight . closed back . n possibly active noise cancelling

@TeddyP
Thanks for the clarification on open vs closed, that was my next question. Ha!
Lots to choose from, I'll do some homework.

Re: What headphones you using?
I'm using a pair of Audio Technica m40. They are great for the price. I had Beyerdynamic 990s before and they are sooo nice! but one side died, so i got the audio technicas cause i was broke and you can take the cable of. I would definetely go with the 990s or beyerdynamic 770. I think the 770 are less colored than the 990, but the 990 seems more punchy to me which i like. But you can probably try some different ones out at a music store
