Effects on coaxial?

Post by bib993 »

Hello,

Apparently it is not possible to apply effects on the coaxial external source, only on the traditional line in.
The coaxial LED can be lit up with the Select Source button only when in sample mode, not in standard mode.
I couldn't find the information about that in the user guide.
Is there a workaround by any chance?

Asking this because I have a MX-1 mixer that has both Aux send (goes into line in) and Digital out (goes into Coaxial) and 2 samplers (SP-505 and MC-09) and today I have to choose which sampler will receive the Aux send to apply effects upon.

Thanks!

yes and no, you can apply effects to the coaxial input (by applying the efx to ext source) but you won't be able to hear it till you press sample.

now, pressing sample puts you in "sample mode" where you can choose coaxial as the source and you'll be able to audition how the efx sound on it, it won't actually start sampling till you press "sample" a second time. it will then sample with your selected efx. only weird thing is "rec level" has no effect on coaxial.

Yes I remember that now. But the problem is that I can't play other pads while in sample mode and I would like to do that in live, not to record a sample :(

:) actually no, I have an MC-09, which has got some sampling capabilities. It's not an SP but a really cool machine though!
