Hi man, and true for me. I sold my first SP 404 I got back in 07, because I came back from vacation without any money and figured I didn't use the SP all that much and thought I'd be good with Ableton alone. But then I began to miss all the effects, chopping stuff up and come up with some flows, resample sounds over and over - things I would do differently or not at all when working on the computer. So I couldn't help but get a 404 again and it sparked a whole new wave of output for me.
After all I can say that if you made some beats at some point in your life and come across the opportunity to cop a sampler again, go for it!
