The real dude behind all of Roland's samplers as well as its founder, Ikutaro Kakehashi died in April. He was the innovative force and reason why every Roland Legacy product had a sampler in it. He loved samplers, so much, that his philosophies of sampling is compared to real life for we sample a little knowledge from something and we create our own paths. When he died, so did Roland's vision of samplers died with him. And this is the kind of shit we gonna see in the next coming months if Roland doesn't get their head out their asses and pay the respect Kakehashi deserves and make an SP worth it.

I haven't gotten around to getting a SP404 yet, so getting a SP404A doesn't bother me in the slightest.

The SX is near perfect, but come on.
-recording while pattern sequence is playing
-resampling while recording external
-midi out
-usb
-internal battery
-pads, and not buttons (my personal preference)
-optional velocity
- more stereo polyphony
the first two would eliminate the current need to get a second sampler to complete tracks, in certain ways. COME ON ROLAND.

Usually I cringe at the complaining people make at new gear launches but I agree. Just a price update

Sorry if that's been posted before. Here's how to integrate the 404SX and 404A with the TR-8 drum machine.

Like I said in another post, I tried that with the 505, without success...

Why not get the sx instead, saves you some cash aswell. And there are loads of free sounds on the net anyway, so why bother with loopmasters ?!

The decision not to make a new sampler w/ usb/midi out/etc, was made looooong b4 he died. Same goes for the boutique (read: too small) range. Well, great vision he had :? Maybe it's time to attract some ppl who have a clear vision of what to do and dare to listen and talk to the userbase. Nowadays it looks like all of their products are made for ppl who only make youtube vids with them, b4 selling them again.
