I'm sure there was a post with the rules somewhere but I can't find it, as far as I'm aware, you have to use only the given sample and resampling, no bouncing, no outside anything. I think it's generally the sample choice that is the challenge, like something that has hardly any musical value, turned into something resembling a beat/song or whatever.

Guess that's part of the challenge, in the past there has been samples of people walking in the woods, smashing a piece of glass, a 6 second clip from King of the hill. Once you see past the crappy samples and mess around with effects its amazing what people come up with!
