External Mic Help! ):

Hi guys,

So I just got my 404. Pretty stoked, naturally. I make beats with vocal riffs in them, so I picked up an XLR cable with a 1/4" end to plug my Shure Sm58 into the "Mic In."
I plug it in, and no sound. I click record, choose a pad, click record again, and it gets stuck on "ready." Am I missing something obvious about connecting an external mic to the 404? I have my Line Out all set up and hear sound coming out when I use the built-in mic. A frustrating start to the 404.

Help would be much appreciated!
