... I'll give my best to discribe, what sometimes happen to me with my 404

Imagine, I'm in the pattern-rec-mode and I rec a sample to the pattern... If I go into delete-mode, the last recorded sample will be erased without holding down the pad...!!! You got it?! This isn't always happening and it's quite cool but I want to use when I want it...
Any suggestions?

man i get this sometimes too
at first it confused the shit out of me, until i figured out what was going on

it can be pretty devastating when a pattern you just spent alot of time getting right disappears when you only want to erase one note in it

...I figured out that only the last cycle will be erased... it could be an useful thing if you only could handle it right...

ah, so it's like a random "undo" feature?

this happens to me, but I think if you have jus made the drum pattern or layed down samples exit out of rec mode go back and start the pattern again, and then add your additional samples or drums otherwise it may delete your last recorded notes

I really don't know, man. Like I said, it would be really nice if this "feature" could be used when I want it... random "undo" sounds very funny and lil bit scary, too...
I think it could sth in that way: If you hold down a button (which I don't know yet) before pressing DEL this "undo-shit"will happens. This is what I felt, when this was hapenning... Let's see if we can figure that out... cause I'm not convinced that it's truely "random".. it must be some of that hided gimmicks... (I hope) Let's get that brainteaser...

I get that also... definately a 404 bug that has yet to be fixed. Its extra annoying for those of us that sequence our drums all at once :) Then it just clears all kinds of things. It hardly ever happens thankfully. I wonder what triggers it.

It could also be a mechanical thing, I mean perhaps a button gets stuck a bit and causes this? Pressing it again un-stucks it and it works fine again? Just thinking out loud here as I don't have a SP-404.

The OS on the 404 seems a lot more unstable than the 303.

Its about as stable. This is about the only bug ive ever dealt with aside from when they first came it. B4 they updated the OS it used to add a bar sometimes to your sequence. The 303s gets that wierd thing that wont let u use certain banks n things. :)

... and what causes that? is it truely random or "activated" by sth.?

(My button-hold-down-theorie is bullshit- I tried every combination with DEL+XXX... Nothing.)

... if it's really a bug I like this one more than that before. (adding a bar to the sequence must be really shit, cause you can't cut it up... :? )
But somehow I can't believe that its random, this would mean that this machine got some kinda own thinking... )

Maybe we can watch this prob in action and share some expiriences in the future? (even if it is a bug, it can be cool if it's used right, thats my vision... )

Word, but the 303 thing is easily fixed at home. Maybe this 404 software issue can be fixed by some kind of reset or something like the 303.

Honestly, I think Mike Acosta could care less. It's seems like his only real interest is to spy on what the sp community is thinking to help product development and advertising. I remember him talking about trying to get some software made that would remedy some of the 303/404 issues, but no info or updates. But it's cool everyone here seems to figure this stuff out on our own.
