SP-808ex zip disk problem

I just joined this group and it has great info about my old school sp 808ex. i recently started using it again and bought some new 250mb zip disks from amazon. one disk was useless from the beginning because i was so worked up to use the machine that i did a quick format and soon enough the disk didn't last long. then, i finally brought myself the putting some serious nights into loading samples and cutting and chopping beats up and then again, the disk froze while i was sampling. basically, when I tried to finish the sample it got stuck on "sampling" function. Nothing could be done but to turn the machine off and hopefully the samples would still be there, but they were gone. banks were still named but the sounds were gone. I tried to reformat the disk, but it failed again. I can't keep going through all this work and losing everything. it's happened too many times to count. what's the best option besides changing mediums because I love this machine. I have heard about the mpc conversion, but don't know if the aftermarket parts would work on the sp-808. Any hints or help would be appreciated. thanks again...the brotherhood.

the one i showed you is the only one known to work!!!

every other one that was tried has been a failure.

i don't know if that one will work.

if you try it and it does you'll make alot of folks around hear happy.
