Re: Studio Pics
I was down in Melbourne for a year. It's probably the best city I have ever been to in my life. Now I'm back in UK and moving to Norway in 2 days... Shame there was a lot of Aussie heads around but didn't get to link up with many of em. And yeh it was a box of durex on the reel 2 reel haha.THE.DIABOLICAL.DR.Z wrote:where you living in aus? im in Perth (not so dope)KIYANI wrote:Well, just fill your backpack with samplers instead of clothes... Comin to Australia I just brought music stuff with me really then bought a load of new clothes from the charity shop.
Also just commit to carrying more stuff than you think is possible. And just find a way haha
been jamming here for the last 2 months:

Wow. Nice collection, especially the Roland drum machines. Missing the 606! I bought one brand new in 1985 or so...had no idea it would become a classic. Never owned the 808 or 909, but they were the shizz back then - and now classic.JUKE179r wrote:Some of my gear...

Re: Studio Pics

Easiest, fastest, most versatile sample-processing setup I've ever had since scoring the 303 last weekend. Laptop and turntable are running thru the harman/kardon to one input on the 808. Chain out to 404, thru to 303, which like the 808 has the luxury of ext in resample. The out of the 303 feeds back to the input 2 on the 808, so after flipping shit with the 808/404 combo i can use the 303 to record finished tracks to using its fx as final mastering, then bounce it back to the 404 & dump the sd-card back to the laptop for final normalising/uploading/w'ever. Breezy.

Pared down the kit, mainly cause I'm playing out more often and it's a time-saver to use the kickdrum case as a kickdrum, besides it knocks like a mofo. The weekend before last I scored the piano frame.. have had time to jam some screws into it so far, but will wait to get a tuning hammer to reharmonise it before recording anything on it yet... in the meantime it reverbs in a nice fashion while playing the drums

Re: Studio Pics
I've always enjoyed playing piano and have loved synthesizers but it's been a long time since I've had anything to toy around with. I decided recently that I would change all that. I used to own a Yamaha AN200 and a Roland Phantom Workstation at one point, but that's all long gone.
Currently, I'm piecing together bits for my own little studio for fun. Consists of a Roland S50, Roland 2080 with 4 expansion cards, E-MU Xtreme Lead 1, Alesis Midiverb4 and a Roland VS-880EX. Have enjoyed this thread for quite some time and now I can finally share my very little setup:
