What do you get out of music? Project for college.

I am working on a project for college. What I need from you guys is to answer a simple question. What do you get out of music. Appropriate answers would be something like: "I get entertainment." or "I get a sense of community; I feel connected to the music community." Feel free to discuss your answers among yourselfs and thank you very much.

When it comes to sampling, the most I get from music is inspiration and giving birth to new ideas from the old compositions. Stuff like intros and interludes are really inspiring and gets me motivated to create my own. When I make albums, they are usually made after an old album I dug up and listened to repeatedly. For example, Swamp Water Plague EP was inspired by Los Jaivas album Volvere, even though the albums are both different, I did not sample anything from there but the inspiration is there, from the intro to the outro, I just took ideas and presented them on how I felt, in Hip Hop form.

When I listen to music I really like I sort of feel connected to someone that sees the world in a way I can relate to. That can be through any part of the music, lyrics, sound, the way it's made or such. It gives me the feeling that there's people out there that get a kick out of the same things like I do even when none of the people that surround me in my everyday life does. In that way it's also possible for music to show me perspectives or approaches to life that I haven't known before. And then there's a whole lot of music just reflecting or amplifying my mood like putting on a smooth beat when the sun is coming out. To me that's the best kind of music that can invoke associations like that.

I just remembered my college years. It was a tough time I must admit... And back then we didn't have services like studymoose.com . And now students don't even appreciate the fact that they have such an opportunity to make their life easier.
