Alright. I dont know if it's ok to discuss the update here...but anyway. I checked my og 404 version from the pdf in your link. Mine is 1.05
Im no genius but i guess (?) 1.05 is newer than 1.04 so im a bit lost now. If my version is newer and i cant read this Transcend CF should i move back to 1.04 ?

I Dl the zip and followed the procedure from roland drivers, it wont do what it supposed to do. I added the .bin file into root CF and its supposed to have 000 blinking hen i turn 404 on. But nothing...I erased all the CF, format it and again nothing...I trierd again my Transcend 1go 133X and not turning on.

So i bet the guy i bought the sp from, updated to 1.05 and now even from Roland support is there any 1.05 for OG 404.
In fact 1.05 is a SX driver on Roland website.

So I just copped a card reader and downloaded winzip way before and the free trial already expired.. Is their any other way to system upgrade my 404...
Im still having trouble using/formatting my cf cards, a reg Sandisk 1gb nd a transcend 1gb 80x, Im still waiting on my sandisk ultra 2.. Hopefully that one works.. But can anyone still help me out plz?..

I'm currently using a Transcend 2GB (133x) that came with the SP-555 I bought off Ebay and have had no problems whatsoever using it. I need more memory cards and was thinking of getting another of the same or a Roland 2GB Compact Flash.

1.05 is the last vers. , if you downgrade you ll have the resample problem with ctrl 3.
Maybe your card is just dead (and it's probably that)... but i promise that i use transcend 133x since years and never had any problems.

I just got an OG 404 and it came with a JAMedia 512 MB card that works perfectly. ALso ordered a Hagiwara 1GB generic card and it worked as well.

Just wanted to give you guys a quick update, I bought a SD to Cf card adapter to try and use a sd card with an OG404 and it works. Strangely if you put the CFSD adapter card in the 404 after it has turned on, it wont read the samples on the card.

But it's pretty dope to treat the OG404 like an sx.
