The Roland SP series does not allow you to pass-thru MIDI SysEx data from the MIDI/USB IN to the MIDI OUT.

What are you doing first of all. How are you hooking it up and what plugs are you using?
The 606 is an audio interface on its own FYI. If you are using another interface with the SP then yeah you gonna have problems. But I don't understand your issue.

The 606 works as an external sound card, not a standard midi interface. Would an audio + midi interface do what you're trying to do?
