EXT Source automatically switching on during pattern mode?

Hi everyone, loving the SP life at the moment but facing a small issue.
I have quite a noisy mixer hooked up to the 404 so its important that it is switched off during playback, especially when recording into the computer.
I'm finding that the EXT source button is switching on intermittently during playback in pattern mode..
It's not the worst problem in the world because outboard compressors and noise gates mean that I can't really hear the noise generated by the mixer, but I would like to know why it's happening and how I can stop it.

If [ext.source] is pressed while making a sequence, its recorded as part of your preformance and played back. same as pressing a pad. To make it stop hit [DEL]+[extsource] while recording a sequence.
